Friday Finds (May 31)

FF2_MdFRIDAY FINDS showcases the books you ‘found’ and added to your To Be Read (TBR) list… whether you found them online, or in a bookstore, or in the library — wherever! (they aren’t necessarily books you purchased).

So, come on — share with us your FRIDAY FINDS!

I went through my exhaustive TBR pile to come up with this weeks Friday Finds.

Product DetailsTouch of Power by Maria Snyder.

Avry’s power to heal the sick should earn her respect in the plague-torn land of Kazan. Instead she is feared. Her kind are blamed for the horrifying disease that has taken hold of the nation. When Avry uses her forbidden magic to save a dying child, she faces the guillotine. Until a dark, mysterious man rescues her from her prison cell. His people need Avry’s magic to save their dying prince. The very prince who first unleashed the plague on Kazan.

Saving the prince is certain to kill Avry – yet she already faces a violent death. Now she must choose – use her healing touch to show the ultimate mercy or die a martyr to a lost cause? (Goodreads Excerpt)

I have read some of her other books and loved them, so now I have moved this up in the pile and is now TBR Soon!

This is another good one I found in my TBR pile that I forgot about and now can’t wait to read:

Product DetailsSpellcaster by Claudia Gray

When Nadia’s family moves to Captive’s Sound, she instantly realizes there’s more to it than meets the eye. Descended from witches, Nadia senses a dark and powerful magic at work in her new town. Mateo has lived in Captive’s Sound his entire life, trying to dodge the local legend that his family is cursed – and that curse will cause him to believe he’s seeing the future … until it drives him mad. When the strange dreams Mateo has been having of rescuing a beautiful girl—Nadia—from a car accident come true, he knows he’s doomed.

Despite the forces pulling them apart, Nadia and Mateo must work together to break the chains of his family’s terrible curse, and to prevent a disaster that threatens the lives of everyone around them. Shimmering with magic and mystery, New York Times bestselling author Claudia Gray’s new novel is sure to draw fans of the Hex Hall and Caster Chronicles series, and fans of the hit CW TV show The Secret Circle. (Goodreads Excerpt)

Definitely on my TBR soon list!  Happy Friday

  1. I like the idea of these books

  2. Thanks for sharing your finds! Both of those are on my to-read list. I’m really looking forward to giving Touch of Power a read.

Here are my YA & Middle Grade finds: http://pidginpeasbooknook.blogspot.com/2013/05/friday-finds-39.html

  3. Those both look interesting! Especially for a fantasy genre fan like myself. My finds were mainly historical fiction this week (http://addictedtobooksandpastries.wordpress.com/2013/06/01/friday-finds-may-31st/) – but I’ll have to mark yours as to read as well!

  4. I’m going to suggest Touch of Power to my sister!

I love comments so please feel free to leave one!
